Two people were transported to a local hospital after a semi trailer crashed in Fillmore Sunday morning.
Authorities responded around 8:30 a.m. to the wreck. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the truck was headed southbound on I-15 when it drifted into the median near mile post 167, and continued up the embankment.
The driver was flown to Utah Valley Hospital with serious injuries. The passenger was treated and released from the same hospital.
No lanes of traffic have been impacted by the crash, but crews are working to safely move the truck back to the highway.
Around 4:30 a.m., another semi truck caught fire near mile post 142.
Construction in the area prevented the driver from pulling over to the shoulder, so they stopped in the far right lane.
The fire spread to the trailer, which was lost, but crews were able to prevent it from spreading to nearby grass.
No injuries were reported, but a hazmat crew was called to the scene due to the contents of the truck catching on fire.
Travelers should expect delays as crews work to clean up the scene.
