SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — A train engine exploded early Saturday morning in rural Utah, according to local fire crews and the train company.
While traveling through the area of Wahsatch* in Summit County, the second locomotive of a freight train caught fire around 3 a.m. and exploded, Union Pacific told FOX 13.
The North Summit Fire Service District, Uinta County Fire and Summit County Ambulance services responded and were able to put the fire out.
No one was injured in the fire or explosion, and no other cars on the train were damaged.
The cause is under investigation.
