SALT LAKE CITY — A man was found dead Sunday afternoon in the Jordan River.
Around 1:15 p.m., a group of kayakers found the body in the river near Fremont Avenue, approximately 1100 South, not far from the International Peace Gardens.
Salt Lake City Police Lt. Steve Wooldridge said the body wasn't fully submerged; it was partially in the water and on the riverbank.
The body didn't appear to have been in the water for very long, Wooldridge said.
The man's identiy was unknown, but he is estimated to be in his late 30s.
