SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake City Fire said a fire that sparked in a parked RV Thursday night is suspicious.

The RV ignited near Orange Street, just west of Redwood Road near I-80, Thursday around 8 p.m.

There was no one inside the RV when it caught fire.

Capt. Adam Archuleta, Salt Lake City Fire, said the circumstances are unusual enough to be suspicious.

"So generally if a car part starts on fire, it's in an engine compartment or due to an electrical malfunction of some sort, and there's generally someone with the vehicle or was doing routine maintenance on the vehicle: This does not appear to be something like that," he said.

Investigators responded to another vehicle fire in the same area in recent days.
