Man critically injured in SLC stabbing; police locate person of interest

SALT LAKE CITY — A man in his 50s is in serious condition after he was stabbed at a Salt Lake City apartment building Sunday morning.

According to SLCPD, the stabbing happened around 5 a.m. near 200 N 200 W. Police have located Michael Lee Sims, a person of interest in the case.

Police also hope to identify a second man who goes by the name “Bud” (pictured on the right). Bud was described as a 32-year-old white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a thin build and a red or brown goatee.
