SOUTH OGDEN, Utah – Authorities have released footage, Tuesday, from a home surveillance system outside a house where two men were killed and another injured during a home invasion robbery last week.

South Ogden police is asking for the public’s help in identifying the three individuals in the videos who are seen watching the house prior to the shooting then fleeing the area afterward. The suspects were wearing masks.

“This was not a random target of opportunity but one specifically focused on this home,” according to a press release from South Ogden police. “People familiar with this home and the victims may also be familiar with the suspects. For that reason, footage from those systems is being released today.”

Last week, police responded to a shooting in the area of the 3600 block of Ogden Avenue. When they arrived they Cycle Vankomen, 24, and Kevin Nelson, 61, were shot and killed and a third man was found with a gunshot wound.

The third victim was taken to an area hospital where police say he is “fighting for his life.”

Police are asking for people to watch the surveillance to see if they recognize the suspects by their physical stature, mannerisms, clothing and accessories.

Authorities encourage the public not to be afraid to come forward if they know something about the incident.

“If someone with information is reluctant to come forward because they participated in less serious offenses either at the home, or with the victims; know that we are focused on the homicide,” the release states. “Do not let concern about a prior potential offense keep you from coming forward. We’re not concerned about it, and neither should they.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Weber Dispatch Center at 801-629-8221.
