One in critical condition after shooting at park in Kearns

KEARNS, Utah — One person is in critical condition after a shooting at a park in Kearns, and the suspect remains outstanding.

Lt. Brian Lohrke of the Unified Police Department confirmed that one person is in critical condition after a shooting in the area of 4950 South 4300 West in Kearns. Fox 13 News first heard report of the shooting around 5:45 p.m.

Police at the scene say witnesses reported hearing two gunshots from David Gourley Park, and moments later two men were spotted running in different directions from the park.

One of those men went to a nearby home, where he told the occupants he had been shot and needed help.

Police responded to the scene along with K9 units, but so far the suspect has not been located.
