SALT LAKE CITY — A fifth and final suspect in a Salt Lake City homicide case has been taken into custody in Idaho, police announced Thursday.

Four people were arrested earlier this week in connection with the disappearance and death of Jason Nakonechni, and Thursday police announced Rodney Maxwell was arrested in Garden City, Idaho.

Police state they are working with authorities in Idaho to extradite Maxwell back to Utah. Police did not specify what kinds of charges Maxwell is facing in connection with the death.

Nakonechni was last seen September 2, and earlier this week a medical examiner positively identified human remains found in Tooele as the missing man.
