SCIPIO, Utah – All northbound lanes of I-15 are blocked at mile marker 203 near Scipio after a semi accident.

Officials said the semi truck was carrying batteries when it rolled and spilled battery acid on the highway.

Richfield HazMat crews are cleaning up the spill.

No one was injured.

Northbound traffic is being routed off at the Scipio exit to Highway 89 through Gunnison, through Levan and then back onto I-15 at Nephi.

Drivers can also take the I-70 exit and drive up through Salina and then through Gunnison, Levan and then back onto I-15 so they don’t have to double back from Highway 89.

Authorities said southbound traffic is not affected.
