PROVO, Utah — A woman was killed and a man was injured in a crash near Provo Canyon early Sunday morning.
According to the Provo Police Department, officers were dispatched to a crash near Provo Canyon just before 2 a.m.
Police say a northbound Jeep traveling at excessive speeds veered into oncoming traffic in the area of 6000 North University Avenue, where it struck a southbound Chevy Malibu.
The driver of the Jeep was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. The woman driving the Malibu, 54-year-old Maria Rodriguez, was deceased at the scene when first responders arrived.
Police are investigating the crash.
