Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. could be planning run for Senate
SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman Jr. is moving back to the Beehive State and could be planning a run for Senate.
A report on the political website UtahPolicy.com states Huntsman is considering a run for Orrin Hatch’s seat in 2018.
Utah Policy cites sources saying he’s considering running as an Independent, not a Republican or Democrat.
Hatch has said this is his last term but in recent interviews with Fox 13, he appeared to be hedging on that promise.
Huntsman resigned from office as Utah Governor to Pres. Obama’s Ambassador to China for a brief time.
