Female jogger attacked in Provo, suspect on the run

PROVO, Utah - Police are searching for a suspect accused of attacking a female jogger in Provo.

According to Provo Officer Nisha King, the 31-year-old victim was jogging on Slate Canyon Dr. at 10 p.m. Saturday.

The victim said she noticed a man running on the opposite side of the street and then he started following her.

Police said the victim told them the suspect attacked her from behind and took her to the ground.

King said the victim was kicking the suspect to try to get away when he put his hands around her throat.

The victim continued to fight, got away, ran home and called police.

Police said the suspect is described as a man in his mid-20s with no facial hair, a medium build and a darker skin complexion.
