Stress of holidays
• Anxiety and depression have a tendency to spike during this time with both the caregiver and care receiver.
How to deal with the holiday stress...SIMPLIFY!
• When family comes into town
o Use them to take a break

• Engage with the Senior
o Senior might have declined to the point of not being able to communicate or they don`t remember, but still have feelings, sadness, etc.
o Lightly touch their arm (human contact)
o Reminisce
o Music

• Simple meals or desserts
