SALT LAKE CITY — Police in Salt Lake City have arrested a man for homicide Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old at an apartment complex in Salt Lake City Saturday night.

Police said 20-year-old Landon Johnson has been arrested and booked into jail for homicide in the death of Eric Padilla, who was shot dead Saturday.

Padilla was shot during a home-invasion at the Sky Harbor Apartments, 1900 West North Temple. Police said Thursday that Johnson had items stolen from the home in his possession.

Padilla was at the apartment visiting a friend when the home invasion and shooting occurred. He was pronounced dead at the scene after the shooting.
