One critically injured after car, motorcycle collide in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — A man on a motorcycle suffered critical injuries in a crash in Salt Lake City early Thursday morning, and police said it appears the car that hit the man ran a stop sign.

According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, the crash occurred at the intersection of 600 North and 800 West around midnight.

The initial investigation and witness reports indicate the driver of a car ran a stop sign and crashed into the motorcycle.

The man on the motorcycle was wearing a helmet but suffered severe injuries to his lower body. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

A passenger in the car was taken to a hospital in stable condition. The person driving the car was not injured.
