IRVING, Texas — Brigham Young University is among the 17 schools being interviewed for a possible Big 12 expansion.
ESPN released a report Friday that said Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby will conduct video interviews with 17 schools, including BYU.
According to the report, the league hopes to have a final decision on the expansion by the board of directors meeting in October.
The conference will likely stay at 10 schools or expand to 12 at the most, but is becoming less likely to expand to 14, ESPN stated.
Other schools in the running include: Cincinnati, Houston, South Florida, UCF, UConn, Memphis, Colorado State, Boise State, Tulane, Temple, East Carolina, SMU, New Mexico and Northern Illinois.
