SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah football coach Kyle Whittingham has suspended senior receiver Cory Butler-Byrd Thursday.
“Cory is dealing with personal issues and has been suspended from our team indefinitely,” Whittingham said.
Utah Athletics officials said Butler-Byrd remains on scholarship but will not be participating in team activities during his suspension.
The university has not released details on what led to the suspension or when Butler-Byrd may rejoin team activities.
