Mixing patterns can be very intimidating but when it is done right, it looks amazing! Interior designer, Kristin Rocke, gave us a few rules to follow when mixing patterns to help us get the look we want.
Old Rules of Pattern:
• Colors repeat
• Trio of stripe/plaid + floral + solid
• Proportions - small scale + large scale + solid in 60/30/10
New Rules of Pattern:
• No rules
• Get fabrics that you like and go together but they don`t have to match perfectly
• Use fabric that incorporates all the colors
