SALT LAKE CITY - A pregnant woman was killed but her baby survived after their SUV collided with a FrontRunner train near 600 W. and 900 S. Monday night.
Authorities said the driver of the SUV survived; the train hit the passenger side, killing the pregnant woman, Kaipa `Ofa Ki`Uiha Kinikini.
According to police, the driver went around the barrier arms as the train was coming, causing the collision.
Police said the woman was not on the way to the hospital to give birth at the time.
Officials have not released the name of the driver.
