SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah Democrats and Republicans had wildly different responses to the FBI’s decision not to recommend charges against Hillary Clinton in her use of a private email server as Secretary of State.

State Republican Party Chair James Evans said he thinks the FBI did exactly the wrong thing.

“I think that Hillary Clinton should have been referred over for prosecution but because she is Hillary Clinton a different set of rules apply to her,” Evans said.

Utah Democratic Party Chair Peter Corroon said Clinton was guilty of not exercising common sense, but he didn’t think her mistakes amounted to crimes.

“I think anytime Hillary Clinton sneezes, the Republican Party is going to be jumping all over her,” Corroon said.
