HURRICANE, Utah – Two people are behind bars after they allegedly carried out an armed robbery at a pharmacy in southern Utah.

According to police, 37-year-old Kevin Scott Richards walked into the Hurricane Family Pharmacy just before 6 p.m. Tuesday and demanded medication while claiming he was armed with a handgun.

The man was wearing a hat and bandana to disguise his features, and he fled after obtaining an undisclosed amount of medication.

Police saturated the area and were able to locate the suspect vehicle based on witness descriptions. Kevin Richards was found inside the car along with 32-year-old Elizabeth Richards. Both suspects are from LaVerkin.

Both people were taken into custody “within minutes of the robbery”, according to a press release from Hurricane City PD.

The Richards were each booked on charges that include drug possession, aggravated assault while using a weapon, obstruction of justice, and aggravated robbery. While the pair share a last name, it is not clear what relationship, if any, exists between them.

Bail was set at $50,000.
