WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah -- Two men are behind bars Friday morning after leading police on a chase through West Valley City.
Police said an officer spotted a vehicle suspected to be stolen and attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed.
The car then stopped at an apartment complex near Redwood Road and Parkway Boulevard and two men exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Police say one of the suspects was carrying a gun. A K-9 was able to locate the suspects and police are working to identify the men.
Officers in the area were able to contain the area quickly to ensure no one was injured in the incident. Authorities say one of the suspects cut his hand while running and was taken to the hospital.
Police are now investigating whether the car was stolen.
