OGDEN, Utah – The missing sister missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been found safe in Ogden.

Sister Heeji Nada Kang, 20, is serving in the Utah Ogden Mission.

Authorities have not confirmed where she was found.

Eric Hawkins, a spokesman for the LDS Church, released a statement confirming Kang had been located and thanking the public for their assistance.

“We are grateful to confirm that Sister Heeji Nada Kang has been found, and is safe and unharmed. We express our sincere thanks to all those who helped locate her.

Our thanks to you for your efforts to share the request for help in locating her!”

She was last seen Monday evening when she left her Ogden apartment, according to the LDS Church.

“No foul play is suspected, but Sister Kang was emotionally distressed when she was last seen,” church officials said.

While police have no evidence of her leaving the Ogden area, they are investigating the possibility Kang became homesick and could be headed home to Houston, Texas.
