PLEASANT GROVE, Utah — The exit at Pleasant Grove Boulevard on Interstate 15 was closed for about an hour as crews worked to recover a trailer hanging off the overpass, Tuesday afternoon.

At about 3:11 p.m., a Sunroc dump truck pulling a pup trailer took the southbound exit at Pleasant Grove Boulevard at mile marker 275. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the trailer suffered a mechanical failure, detached from the truck and continued through the intersection going down an embankment toward I-15.

The trailer was stopped by a concrete ledge before it could fall onto the highway.

Three lanes of the freeway were closed until the trailer could be secured and pulled back up. The southbound on and off ramps to Pleasant Grove Boulevard were closed and lanes on the boulevard were restricted during the cleanup, according to UHP.

No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.

All lanes were of traffic were reopened just before 5 p.m.
