ALPINE, Utah — A concerned citizen in Alpine rescued a weak, abandoned bobcat kitten in 2015, and after being nursed back to health the feline was released into a habitat in central Utah.
Scott Root with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources said the cat was found in Alpine and given into the care of a local rehabilitator, who shared a photo of the young animal.
Saturday, the DWR posted a video of the bobcat being released into a new habitat. The post states the animal is healthy enough to catch and kill prey, so biologist Tom Becker tranquilized the animal and prepared her for transport and release in central Utah.
