SALT LAKE CITY - Police found 72-year-old Becky Lewis dead Monday night near her Salt Lake City home; she had been missing since Sunday.
Officers said she went for a walk by herself on Mother's Day and never came home.
Salt Lake Police officers found Lewis' body along a popular trail in the foothills near her house.
"She was in incredible shape," Melissa Foulger said, Becky's daughter. "And she was a cardiac care nurse for 43 years. She was very health conscience."
An autopsy is expected for Tuesday afternoon; police said they don't believe the death is suspicious.
The timing of Lewis's passing makes it even tougher for Lewis' family.
"She's just amazing," Foulger said, holding back tears. "She was a friend to everyone. So, it's kind of hard to imagine she's gone, and on Mother's Day."
Despite her great physical health, police said Lewis's passing serves as a good reminder that unexpected health issues could come up at any point.
Officers said having a walking partner is always a good idea.
