PAGE, Ariz. — Multiple agencies are assisting in the search for a man who went under the water and did not resurface at Lake Powell Thursday.
According to a press release from Glen Canyon Recreation Area and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, a 51-year-old male went under the water at 1:49 p.m. Thursday near Lone Rock.
Initial search efforts for the man were not successful and were conducted during a time of high winds. The search is in the area of Lone Rock in the Kane County portion of Wahweap Bay at Lake Powell.
Search efforts continued Friday, and a Utah Department of Public Safety dive team is assisting.
The missing man has not been identified at this time.
