FOUND: Missing, endangered Layton man with autism has been found

LAYTON, Utah – The missing and endangered Layton man, 22-year-old Daniel Recksiek, has been found.

Authorities said someone recognized Recksiek after seeing him on the news and found him at a restaurant just before 1 p.m.

Recksiek has Asperger’s Syndrome and a TBI (traumatic brain injury).


He went missing from his home at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said Recksiek often goes to movie theaters, hotel lobbies and arcades with video games.

According to Layton PD, Recksiek sometimes forgets to eat and care for himself if he doesn’t take his medications.

He was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt, baggy blue jeans, socks and may be carrying a navy blue backpack.
