SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints named 11 men as General Authority Seventies Saturday, and another 62 were named as Area Seventies.

General Authority Seventies in the LDS Church serve in the Presidency of the Seventy, in Area Presidencies, and in other administrative capacities under the direction of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

Mormonnewsroom.org states the men will travel frequently to meet with and teach leaders in the LDS Church along with missionaries and members in local congregations. While General Authority Seventies can serve anywhere in the world, the authority of Area Seventies is “generally limited to the area where they serve.”
