UPPER MERION TOWNSHIP, Penn. — Pennsylvania State Police canceled an Amber Alert Thursday night for a 7-week-old boy officials say was abducted from a food court in Upper Merion Township.

Ahsir Simmons is in good health and has been reunited with his parents, police confirmed.

An Amber Alert was issued after an unknown woman allegedly grabbed Simmons from his stroller at the King of Prussia Plaza Mall on North Gulph Road around 5:30 p.m. Police have not publicly identified the suspect, who is now in custody according to WTXF.

Upper Merion Township police say the suspect befriended the family of the boy and spent about 30 minutes with them in the food court. When the baby became fussy, the family gave her permission to hold him while the boy’s mother made a phone call, according to WNEP.

She then turned around and walked out of the mall with little Ahsir, surveillance videos taken near the exit showed, according to police.

A police investigation is ongoing.
