A new social media trend going viral online has a lot of people asking, "is this for real?"
It's called "thigh gap jewelry" and when we first saw it, we thought, no way this is a thing and had to check it out.
Luckily, it turns out the adornments for the gap between one's thighs are not actually the new hottest teen fashion must-have.
They are part of a positive body image campaign.
The company TGAP Jewellery doesn't really sell these 18K gold-plated pieces; it's a front to shine light on the latest unattainable Hollywood trend.
TGAP's website states its mission is to "catalyze a debate on unrealistic body image social media portrays."
When shoppers try to purchase the handmade items online, they are met with statistics about body image and information on how to get help.
