A high-definition copy of “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” has leaked online, and the film has already been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times, according to an estimate by TorrentFreak.

The seventh Star Wars movie will officially be released as a digital download on April 1st, followed by Blu-ray and DVD releases four days later.

But the pirated copy, which was ripped from a Blu-ray copy of the film, first appeared online Tuesday. As of Wednesday, the pirated copy “The Force Awakens” had been downloaded an estimated 250,000 times. That number is expected to reach into the millions over the coming weeks.

A copy of the film made by pointing a video camera at a movie theater screen had previously leaked online around the time of its theatrical release.
