OGDEN, Utah – A 26-year-old man is recovering after being hit by a Weber County School District bus in Ogden Friday morning.

Officers said there were no students on the bus at the time of the accident.

Authorities said the man was crossing Canyon Rd. east of the intersection when the bus hit him just before 6 a.m.

Weber County officials did not know if the man was “appropriately using the designated cross walk.”

The bus hit the man as it was turning left from Harrison Blvd. onto Canyon Rd.

Emergency crews took the man to the hospital in serious condition for head and shoulder injuries.

Authorities said the man who was hit may have been intoxicated at the time.

Officers said the 69-year-old driver of the bus is cooperating.

No one has been ticketed at this time.

The names of those involved have not been released.
