SALT LAKE CITY -- Mitt Romney clearly touched a nerve when he challenged Donald Trump to release his tax returns.
How can you tell? The response from Trump continued after a bruising debate in Houston.
Asked about Romney on CNN, Trump went on the attack.
“You know, Mitt is a guy who was a horrible candidate,” Trump said. “Mitt is just trying to remain relevant. Nobody's talking to him much anymore. He got some publicity today.”
Romney was active on Twitter, at one point writing, “No legit reason @realDonaldTrump can't release returns while being audited, but if scared, release earlier returns no longer under audit.”
