WEBER COUNTY, Utah — About 63,000 pounds worth of cattle were killed after a tractor-trailer crashed in Weber County Monday morning.

The accident occurred at about 10 a.m. when the truck driver, traveling south on the Interstate 15 ramp to I-84 eastbound crashed on the overpass, said John Gleason, spokesman for Utah Department of Transportation.

The driver of the truck was traveling too fast to safely negotiate the overpass and ran into the right-hand side of the structure, which is suspended over I-15, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

The tractor-trailer was partially hanging over the on-ramp overpass, shutting down lanes to I-15 southbound.
