PLEASANT VIEW, Utah – A dump truck rolled down a ravine in Weber County and the driver is in serious condition.

Officials were called to the accident at 520 W. Elberta Dr. just after 9 a.m. Tuesday where they said a truck driving down 500 W. hit a power pole and rolled down the embankment.

Pleasant View Police Chief Ryon Hadley said, “The vehicle came through an intersection, luckily there were no vehicles in the intersection at the time, continued through the intersection, went about 500 feet through a field and into a ravine.”

Investigators are trying to determine if the accident was caused by a medical condition or some kind of mechanical issue.

Rocky Mountain Power is working to repair power lines that were hit in the accident and said power may go out in the area.

No other vehicles were involved.
