LAYTON, Utah -- Layton police have released the identity of a man who was driving a truck that hit two Layton High School students, killing one of them, on Monday morning.

According to a news release, Leroy Clark will be charged with multiple violations related to distracted driving in connection with the auto-pedestrian crash.

Police said BaiLee DiBernardo and Eric Baarz, both 17, were using a crosswalk near 199 N Fort Lane when they were hit.

DiBernardo was killed and Baarz suffered leg injuries.

The news release said formal charges against Clark will not be officially filed until the toxicology results are received from the Utah State Lab.

A local band, Miniature Planet, released a song in tribute to BaiLee. Ian White said BaiLee recently attended one of their shows and had a great energy and enthusiasm. See below for that song, which is titled "Up In The Stars."
