SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Highway Patrol said “drivers watching” a semi truck fire caused a crash on I-80 in Salt Lake City overnight.

UHP said a semi without a trailer overheated and burst into flames on I-80 near 700 E. at about 11 p.m. Wednesday.

The semi driver got out and was not injured.

Troopers said as other drivers passing by saw the flames, they weren’t paying attention to the road and hit each other.

No one was injured in that accident.

Officers have not said if they will be ticketed.
