Police stop speeding vehicle in South Willard, find man with severe stab wound inside

WILLARD, Utah — Two people were detained and police are investigating after officers pulled a speeding vehicle over in Willard Saturday night and found a man inside who was suffering from a severe stab wound.

According to a press release from the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Department, Willard City police made a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle around 10 p.m. Saturday.

Upon contact with the vehicle, officers found a 36-year-old man from South Willard who had suffered a severe stab wound and who was being transported to a hospital.

Police followed up and learned the crime scene regarding the stabbing was near the Hot Springs Mobile Home Park in South Willard.

Units from the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office, Utah Highway Patrol and Weber CSI responded to the scene. Two individuals were detained, and several other people were contacted for questioning.

Further details about the stabbing were not available, as police said the situation remains a very active investigation. The identities of the parties involved have not yet been released.
