LOS ANGELES — This California couple always said they were never very traditional and now they have the engagement ring to prove it.
When Lucas Unger was planning how he was going to propose to his girlfriend, Carlee Leifkes, on Halloween, he said knew better than to buy a diamond ring.
To Carlee, diamonds were overrated.
“My birthstone is a diamond,” she said. “I don’t need one to prove how much someone loves me.”
So Unger proposed with a ring, made from his own wisdom tooth, instead.
Leifkes shared a photo of her ring on Facebook.
“So incredibly excited to marry my best friend, the man who knows that his wisdom tooth means more to me than a diamond. Can’t wait to be a weirdo with you and dance our way through life to Thee Oh Sees and Black Sabbath. We have never been the ‘traditional couple,’ why the heck start now?” she posted.
The couple said they will be married in Las Vegas, by Elvis, later this year.
