Millcreek Township to become city, early voting results show

Voters in Kearns Magna, Emigration Canyon, Millcreek, White City and Copperton decided if they wanted to become their own city, town or township be annexed into a nearby city.

Millcreek Township was the only township to be voted to become a city.

The early results are:

Millcreek

City: 66.27 percent

Township: 33.73 percent

Copperton Metro

Township: 78.61 percent

Town: 21.39 percent

Emigration Canyon

Township: 96.41 percent

City: 3.59 percent

Kearns

Township: 68.07 percent

City: 31.93 percent

Magna

Township: 61.36 percent

City:38.64 percent

 

White City

Township: 82.79 percent

City: 17.21 percent

        Townships = Higher taxes (even though they said they can’t raise cirten taxes, Yet it mentions nothing in fees or services of what we allready recieve. 1 Person will be appointed by the SLC Mayor that dose not have to live in Kearns to represent us all, to make decisions for us all (Sociolism, Representitive appointed by the government) . It is a farch or a half truth to say our taxes would not increase. Millcreek new that (Fact, Higher educated people there per capita) That is why they voted a City over wealmigly.

        City = Taxes would increas A lot. But we would be able to rule our self’s. Buy the prouducts our city needs. The people would vote in 5 people, one which would be the mayor to make decisions for our city, they would have to live with in the borders of said city. Which the people would hold them accountable because the said cities people voted on are small cities. (Republic). It requires more action from the citizens, we would be able to vote on cirteadsfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdn issues instead of having a board vote on the issues for us.         It is the wording of how they word them Either way our taxes and fees for services are going to go up. This is exactly why people hate politics and want nothing to do with it.
