SANDY, Utah — A driver’s car caught on fire while on the freeway late Sunday night.
According to Utah Highway Patrol the driver pulled over near the 9000 South exit on I-15 because they were having problems with their car.
When the driver popped the hood to check what was going on, the engine block was on fire.
Fire crews were quickly able to put out the fire.
There was no major loss and no one was hurt.
UHP said in cases like these, to minimize possible danger to other cars on the highway, the best thing to do is to pull over as soon as possible.
Investigators aren’t sure what could have caused the fire, but suspect it was a mechanical issue.
