SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah Utes had a bye this week after their dismantling of the Ducks in Oregon, but even while on a break their star is rising as the AP Top 25 Poll for Week 6 puts them at No. 5., a jump from last week’s ranking of No. 10.

The Amway Coaches Poll also shows Utah advancing five places, with the Utes moving from last week’s position at No. 12 to come in at No. 7.

Ohio State and TCU are No. 1 and 2 respectively in both polls. Baylor, Michigan State and Utah round out the Top 5 in the AP Poll, while the Amway Coaches Poll puts Michigan State at No. 3 and Baylor and LSU at 4 and 5.

Utah plays next on October 10 at home against Cal, currently ranked No. 23 in the AP Poll. The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

ESPN College GameDay announced Saturday they would be in Salt Lake City for the Utes’ game vs Cal.
