SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah – Two men are recovering from injuries ranging from road rash to a gunshot wound and police are still working to understand exactly what happened.

Unified officers were called to a shooting in Taylorsville just before 11 p.m. Wednesday and about that same time, West Valley officers found a man in a black Infiniti who had been shot in the leg at the Smiths grocery store on Redwood Rd. and 4100 S.

Police said after the driver was shot, the owner of the car jumped out while it was going about 30 miles per hour.

Officers said they believe the two injured men, along with two other men, were in the car participating in a drug deal.

Authorities said there was a dispute and that is when the driver was shot.

Police said there are still a lot of unanswered questions and they don’t believe they are getting the full story from the victims.

The names of those involved have not been released.

Officers have not released a description of the possibly-armed suspects on the run.
