Malachi Bradley, just 10 years old, got lost in the high Uintas and survived more than 30 hours alone before he was found.

Bradley, his father and a family friend stopped by Fox 13 studios to talk about how he was able to endure a night alone in the mountains.

He got lost and tried to find his way back but couldn’t so he toughed out the night with only a jacket to keep him warm.

Bradley said he used a hooded sweatshirt to filter water so he could drink it and tried to stay near streams to find food.

He told Fox 13 he stayed in open areas when possible so aircraft passing overhead might have a chance to spot him.

K9 crews sniffed him out Monday just before 3 p.m.

He was then flown off the mountain and was reunited with his family.
