MILLCREEK, Utah -- A known gang member wanted in connection with a shooting at Taylorsville apartment complex was arrested Thursday.

Tyrel M. Foreman, 19, is accused of firing 29 shots into an apartment at Atherton Park Apartments, 4545 S Atherton Dr., on the morning of July 21. The apartment was occupied by a couple, a 2-year-old child and an 11-month-old child.

"That's someone who's got no problem endangering other people or using a firearm," said Lt. Lex Bell, Unified Police Department. "If you shoot at an apartment building with 29 bullets, there's a pretty good chance that someone could've been hit."

Fortunately, none of the bullets hit anyone, but police said one of the shots passed through two rooms occupied by the children.

Foreman was located at his mother's apartment in Millcreek and booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail.

According to a news release from the Unified Police Department, Foreman is a member of the Lay Low Villain Crips, a violent street gang that originated in Salt Lake County.
