Officers received the report of two stolen handguns from a Centerville home Sunday at about 9 p.m. Police eventually discovered the guns were taken by two teenage males, one of which was the victim’s nephew, according to a press release from Centerville police.

One of the teens led officers to a trail in the foothills above Centerville where one of handguns was hidden under a rock, the release states.

The other gun was traded for drugs to people staying at the Motel 6 in Woods Cross, according to the release.

Centerville officers obtained a search warrant and called Bountiful SWAT to assist in serving the warrant. Once authorities arrived on scene, a containment was set up and officers began attempts to contact the occupants in the room.

One of the suspect’s in the room, Eli Emery Boice, 20, fled the scene.

Nineteen-year-old Gerald Grant and a juvenile female were found in the motel room and taken into custody. The second handgun was recovered in the room,
