LAYTON, Utah — Two girls who ran away from a Layton foster home earlier this month have been found safe
Layton police said 13-year-old McKenzey Madill and 15-year-old Alice Mpawenimana had been last seen at New Beginnings foster home on July 1 and they were reported missing the following day.
According to a news release, McKenzey was located at Pioneer Park in Salt Lake City with a homeless woman later identified as her mother. Alice was found in West Valley City, walking toward an address associated with a family member.
Both girls were returned to state custody.
