MIDVALE, Utah -- Officials have identified a man hit and killed in an accident on Interstate 15 Friday night.
Prior to the fatal accident, a crash occurred in northbound lanes at 7800 South on I-15 at about 9:25 p.m. According to Utah Highway a Chevy Silverado and an Acura were involved in a crash. The driver of the Silverado, Don Smith, got out of his vehicle to check on the other driver.
While attempting to cross lanes, UHP officials say, Smith was hit by another passing vehicle.
He was taken to Intermountain Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
It is unknown if there were any other injuries from the original accident.
