CLEVELAND – A 2-year-old boy reportedly fell into a cheetah exhibit at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Saturday, and the child's parent reportedly jumped in to grab the child and another adult pulled both to safety after.

According to FOX 13 News sister station FOX 8 in Cleveland, the boy fell an estimated 10 to 12 feet. The boy was removed from the exhibit and taken to a hospital. EMS officials originally reported the boy was 4 but later zoo officials confirmed to FOX 8 the child is only 2 years old.

The child is listed as being in stable condition and officials reportedly said the child suffered a leg injury in the fall but wasn't harmed by the animals in the enclosure. The child may have been dangled over the edge of the enclosure prior to the fall.

FOX 8 interviewed a witness about what happened, and Michael Lurie said an adult, reportedly the child's parent, jumped in to grab the child, and another adult pulled the first adult and the child to safety. See the video above for that interview.

FOX 8 reports the exhibit has been closed since the incident but is expected to reopen Sunday morning.
